1. Why do I need an eye examination as well as a contact lens aftercare?
The eye examination is to check the overall eye health, balance between the eyes and measure your spectacle prescription. The aftercare concentrates on contact lens fit, vision and the health of the front of your eyes.
2. Why should I have an eye examination if my vision seems fine?
Everyone should have an eye examination at least every 2 years. Changes can occur without you realising. Sometimes eye disease can develop and then early diagnosis may save your sight.
3. Is Orthokertology (ortho K) dangerous and why haven’t I heard more about it?
The risks with ortho K are no greater than with conventional contact lens wear. It has been around since the early 90’s (more in the USA) but you may not have heard about it because it is only more recently that the equipment (topography) is available to custom make the lenses.
